About Ross

Ross Syner is an award-winning British film director and writer working across film, television, and commercial projects. Known for emotionally grounded storytelling and a cinematic visual style, his work spans broadcast TV, feature documentaries, and narrative drama.

His latest short film Brothers, starring BAFTA-winning actor David Bradley, has qualified for both BAFTA and BIFA consideration and secured a distribution deal with Network Ireland Television. Following a strong international festival run, the film continues to build momentum as Ross transitions into long-form work.

Ross’s broadcast credits include directing longform content for Sky Arts, alongside his work in feature documentary, where he has delivered projects with global distribution. In parallel, he has directed music videos for major labels including Sony, Universal, and Warner, combining narrative storytelling with commercial scale.

He first gained international recognition with Francois, which led to accreditation at the Cannes Film Festival, followed by Jack, which won the Royal Television Society Award for Best Short Film.

Ross is the founder of Mockingbird Film Co., a production company focused on bold, original storytelling. He is currently attached to direct two feature films, marking his transition into long-form narrative filmmaking.
